About Duane Simmons
Born and raised in Wyoming ranch country I have been a fly fisherman, horseman and avid outdoorsman all my life. I have spent years fishing throughout the Rocky Mountains and across Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana and Idaho.
I live year round in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado and have been professionally guiding in Rocky Mountain National Park for the past five years. Being one of the lucky few who can refer to RMNP as "my office", I have fished and guided all major streams, rivers and lakes on the eastern slope of Rocky Mountain National Park. I have also hiked nearly every trail including many isolated backcountry sites.
I feel as equally at home in a river as I do on horseback and love to combine the two with overnight backcountry trips into the National Park. I enjoy introducing novices to fly fishing and take pride in watching students and friends grow into accomplished anglers.
I am a member of Trout Unlimited, whose mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. Out of respect for our natural resources I only practice catch and release.
